Come on, Spring!

Could this winter seem any longer?! I am so ready for some warm weather, bright sunshine, and GREEN! Jim and I have seriously contemplated just taking off for a long weekend and going someplace a little warmer....we need some relief! Even a few days of semi-mild temps would be nice.:)
I am officially in training mode for the Cleveland half marathon. I'm doing pretty good so far. Last week I went almost 5 miles and starting March 11 I will really step up my intensity. I think what continues to challenge me more than anything is boredom. After 3-4 miles my mind wanders and I just feel like I'm ready to do something else. The treadmill is probably a big factor there, not much change of scenery when you are looking at a wall.:) When my outside program starts that should hopefully spice things up.
This weekend is the big vow renewal!! Tomorrow we are picking up the tuxes for the boys. I am so excited about the people who will be there, it's going to be very small and short but I can't wait to see old friends and family. My oldest bff will be there and I haven't seen her in over a year so I can't wait to catch up! Well I guess that just about covers all the big news! Gotta go TiVo American Idol for tonight! I don't want to miss the beat box guy (Blake). I think he is my favorite guy, along with Chris Sligh and Chris Richardson. Not sure who is going to win this season but Lakisha has my early vote for the girls, she is phenomenal!!

Blessed Baby

Oh, my little angel! I really love this onesie. Megan sent it to me from blessedbabycollection.com and I think I'm going to order more of them! There is a big trend in statement T's recently and I love that kind of thing. Problem is, many times the statements I see are not really respectful, especially the ones for kids! Refreshing Idea!

I love this! It's the Whale Faucet Fountain and turns your sink into an easy, no-mess drinking spout for the kids. Just pop it over your faucet and when you want a drink, close the whale's mouth. One thing to note: it does not interfere with normal faucet use. I saw this in my new issue of Parents magazine and had to check it out! Happy Birthday Grant!

Valentine's Day 2008 was memorable for sure! Due to the blizzard all of us stayed home and that was a gift in and of itself! We did a birthday breakfast for Grant and had a great time as a family. Later in the day the snow cleared enough to head out to Build-a-Bear, Grant chose a cow dressed as Superman and we named him "Cow Kent" (oh boy. Lol). After that it was off to Chuck E Cheese for the big party! What a perfect day, because of the weather we were practically the only people there. It was wonderful. It was one of those days that by the time we got home, we all fell into bed exhausted but happy.

The voting is going great for the vow renewal. There's one dress that is easily winning so far. The rest of the categories are too close to call. I can't wait to see how it all pans out!! Jim and I are considering going somewhere special, kind of a second honeymoon (we didn't really have a first one) but money is tight so we just don't know. Adios Dos!

Today is the LAST day Grant is 2! My little Valentine's baby is ready to turn the page and celebrate another birthday. Being cooped up with the snow storm gave us a great excuse to get silly today, so we had an official goodbye-to-2 event and called it "Adios Dos"!!! It just rolls off the tongue doesn't it?!:) Although it turns out you have to shout and smile when you do it in order to experience the full effect.:) We all took turns wearing the homemade hat and yelling the phrase. Everything we did today tied in to that theme. We talked about Noah's Ark and the animals going two by two, I gave him double servings, etc. Considering what a challenging year #2 has been for Mr. Grant, it seemed fitting that it would go out in grand style.:)

Pinch Me

I am feeling quite unworthy lately. Our vow renewal ceremony is about a month away and we have some great surprises planned. The big "reveal" is coming so I can't say much, but I will tell you it deals with getting a wedding dress and cake! We went to The Perfect Bride in Rocky River to try on gowns yesterday. When Jim and I got married we didn't have much time or money so I bought an on-sale dress from a department store and went with that. Don't get me wrong, I would never change a moment from that day but it's still exciting to try on a real wedding dress!! I have such a different perspective now than I did years ago. When I was shopping before our wedding I just remember being so nit-picky, thinking my arms looked fat and being critical of all my flaws. Fast forward to today (6 1/2 years later) and I could care less about my imperfections, I was just giddy to wear something so beautiful! Wow, wedding gowns have come a long way! It was very humbling. We also got a glimpse of the cakes and I was equally floored! They are so amazing and breathtaking! I think most of all I'm just really looking forward to doing all this in front of our boys. We never considered renewing our vows before Jim entered RCIA but now that's it's happening, it's been such a blessing. Anyway, we are getting the webpage ready and will start voting by the end of the week, I hope you'll chime in!
