Running on Empty
It's been one of those weeks. Not enough time, energy, or daylight to get everything done. I'm used to that feeling of being pulled in different directions only right now I just feel like I'm coming up short in everything. I'm slacking in keeping the house clean, spending time with Jim, following up on e-mails, having enough energy for the boys, and getting any sleep. When I get this way it just stinks because then I get short tempered and then usually regret getting upset (or emotional) so easily. Hopefully today I can finally get a nap because I'm sure that's a big part of it. I also have a doctor's appointment so I'm excited to hear the heartbeat again and check up on my little boy! I should've gone a few weeks ago but that's how overwhelmed I've been, isn't that terrible?! Anyway baby "G" (as we are calling him) has been moving, rolling, and kicking like crazy! Gabriel just loves to talk to my belly and lately we have a joke that the baby can see out of my belly button so Gabriel will show him his favorite books, toys, etc. It's so cute.:) Meanwhile Grant has definitely hit the "terrible two's" right on schedule...heck even a month early! He's always been a strong-willed child and now that's even more pronounced. When he gets mad, he'll squat down, scream until his face turns red and his veins pop out on his neck, and yell like a banshee' until he's out of breath! In reading parenting books I know it's best to ignore that (esp. because he gets THAT upset over me just taking his binky away, or having to share a toy). Still, it's stressful for an already frazzled mom and dad, and I hate to see him so upset. The good news is that his vocabulary is just amazing already and he loves to talk and have a conversation. His little personality is so charming from the looks he gives, how he talks to me. The one thing about Grant is that everything he does, he does with passion. It sounds funny to say that about a baby but it's really true! Whether he's learning how to do a somersault or devouring his lunch, he just lives it up and I love that. Both the boys do really. Well I better get back to work. I have to get ready for our interview with Kristy Swanson from "Skating with Celebrities"!
